FAQ - Half Marathon

  • How can I sign up to the Half Marathon?

    Online registration on the website Enternow: payment with bank transfer, credit card, Paypal

    Registration closing: Wednesday April 10th, 2024 at 11pm

  • If I'm not a card carrying member, can I participate?

    The Genoa Half Marathon is open to all athletes in the following categories:

    1) Italian and foreign athletes who are members of clubs affiliated with FIDAL.

    2) Foreign athletes who are members of foreign federations affiliated with the IAAF and in possession of their registration document.
    Foreign athletes from the EU who are authorized by their federations or with a self-certification that bears witness to their membership.
    Foreign athletes not from the EU who are authorized by their federations, or with a self-certification that bears witness to their membership, and are in possession of an Italian “Permit to Stay” or an entry visa.

    N.B. Athletes who are members of a foreign federation not affiliated with the IAAF and are not registered by their federation, club or assistant must sign a self-certification that bears witness to their membership.

    3) Italian athletes and foreign athletes who are members of foreign federations affiliated with the FIDAL and only with a RUNCARD-EPS. Italian residents and foreign athletes who reside in Italy; are above the age of 20 (born in 2004); who are in possession of valid RUNCARD-EPS that has been released by FIDAL (info@runcard.com).

    N.B. The RUNCARD-EPS membership is renewable. The expiry date is printed on the back of the RUNCARD-EPS. The athlete cannot complete if it is revealed that the RUNCARD-EPS has expired during the membership check on the day of the event, unless proof of the renewal having taken place online is produced. Their participation shall nevertheless be subject to the presentation of a sporting medical certificate for athletics that is valid in Italy. The original certificate must be shown to the event organisers. A copy of the medical certificate shall be kept in the event organisers’ documents of each race where the athlete in possession of a RUNCARD-EPS participates.
    N.B. These athletes shall be regularly included in the race’s rankings, but won’t be able to receive refunds and bonuses or win prize money.

    4) Athletes with an Italian Runcard and foreign athletes who reside in Italy. Italian residents and foreign athletes who reside in Italy; are above the age of 20 (born in 2004); who are in possession of valid Runcard that has been released by FIDAL (info@runcard.com).

    N.B. The Runcard membership is renewable. The expiry date is printed on the back of the Runcard. The athlete cannot complete if it is revealed that the Runcard has expired during the membership check on the day of the event, unless proof of the renewal having taken place online is produced. Their participation shall nevertheless be subject to the presentation of a sporting medical certificate for athletics that is valid in Italy. The original certificate must be shown to the event organisers. A copy of the medical certificate shall be kept in the event organisers’ documents of each race where the athlete in possession of a Runcard participates.
    N.B. These athletes shall be regularly included in the race’s rankings, but won’t be able to receive refunds and bonuses or win prize money.

    5) Athletes with an Italian Runcard and foreign athletes who do not reside in Italy. Italian residents and foreign athletes who do not reside in Italy; are above the age of 20 (born in 2004); do not belong to a FIDAL-affiliated club or a foreign athletics club affiliated to IAAF or a club affiliated to a Sports Promotion Body (in athletics) can compete if they are in possession of valid Runcard that has been released by FIDAL (info@runcard.com).

    N.B. The Runcard membership is renewable. The expiry date is printed on the back of the Runcard. The athlete cannot complete if it is revealed that the Runcard has expired during the membership check on the day of the event, unless proof of the renewal having taken place online is produced. Their participation shall nevertheless be subject to the presentation of a sporting medical certificate for athletics that is valid in Italy (they can present a medical certificate issued in their own country which conforms to the diagnostic tests required by Italian law to be able to take part in any sporting event). The original certificate must be shown to the event organisers. In accordance with Ministerial Decree 18/02/1982, every person who participates in sport competitions must undergo prior and regular fitness checks that are specific to each sport. Italian law requires that the participants undergo the following health checks:
    – medical examination
    – full urine test
    – electrocardiogram before and after exercise
    – Spirograph test

    All the statements and results from the exams must be authentic and conform to the original. A copy of the medical certificate shall be kept in the event organisers’ documents of each race where the athlete in possession of a Runcard participates.
    N.B. These athletes shall be regularly included in the race’s rankings, but won’t be able to receive refunds and bonuses or win prize money.

    IMPORTANT (valid for all kinds of participants):
    – Athletes who are members of other federations (Triathlon for example) cannot participate.
    – Athletes with RUNCARD Mountain & Trail cannot participate.
    – Athletes who are members of Sports Promotion Bodies recognized by CONI (the Italian Olympic Association) but not approved by FIDAL cannot participate.
    – Italian civilians enrolled on the Register of Italians Resident Abroad are considered as foreign residents.
    – Certificates of athletic fitness checks with inscriptions such as: race running, running, jogging, marathon running, triathlon racing, half-marathon running, etc. are not valid for participation.
    – Certificates of athletic fitness checks for other sports are not valid for participation.

  • If I live in Genoa, where can I do the medical visit?

  • How can I check my registration?
  • When can I download the confirmation letter?

    The confirmation letter is the official document needed to pick-up your bib number. It will be sent just a few days before the race. If for any inconvenience, you do not receive this document, you can still get a copy at the help desk of the bib numbers distribution area.

  • What if I do not receive the confirmation letter?

  • Where can I retrieve my race's bib number?

    The bib with the built-in chip and the race pack can be withdrawn on:

    Saturday April 13th from 10am to 8pm at the Stand in Piazza delle Feste in Genoa
    Sunday April 14th from 7am to 9am at the Stand in Piazza delle Feste in Genoa

    We highly recommend to collect it on Saturday

  • At what time will the race begin?

    At 9:00

  • Are the starting line and the finish line at the same point?

    Yes, the departure and the arrival are at the Old Port of Genoa.

  • At the end of the race will I get a medal?

    Yes, Of course!

  • Are there any Pacemakers?

    Different groups of pacers will help half marathon runners to maintain a constant pace and get to the finish line according to a time established in advance.

    The pacers will be easily recognizable by their clothing an by colored balloons.

    The pacers will be available for the following final times: 1h24′ – 1h30′ – 1h45′ – 2h00′. Choose the group most suited to your needs.

  • Can I delegate someone to collect my race's bib number?

    Yes, giving the person a copy of your identity document, your confirmation letter and a written authorization.

  • I signed up, but now I can't participate. Can I have a reimbursement of my registration fee?

    No, the registration fee is not refundable under no circumstance.

  • Is there a time limit for the half marathon?

    Yes, the maximum time limit in order to be classified is 3 hours

  • Will there be a bag deposit?

    Yes, in the start/finish area follow the indications

  • Will there be a shower service?

    No.

  • At the end of the race can I know my timing?

    If you indicated your mobile number and your e-amil address, at the end of the race you’ll receive a text message with your timing and an email with the rankings of the race.

    The Corri Genova is not a competitive race, therefore you can participate even if you aren’t a card carrying member or you don’t have a medical certificate.

    The Family Run is not a competitive race, therefore you can participate even if you aren’t a card carrying member or you don’t have a medical certificate.

    Everyone can partecipate: adults and kids.

  • How can I check my registration?
  • When can I download the confirmation letter?

    The confirmation letter is the official document needed to pick-up your bib number. It will be sent just a few days before the race. If for any inconvenience, you do not receive this document, you can still get a copy at the help desk of the bib numbers distribution area.

    No, the start is scheduled in Piazza Rossetti (Foce area) while the finish is scheduled in Piazza Mandraccio (Old Port area)
